In many cases, it is advisable—or even necessary—to include positive controls in our NGS reactions to ensure that the specific mutations or gene rearrangements we detect are not artefacts.
To achieve this, it is necessary to continuously maintain different cell lines carrying defined mutations in culture, which are then processed as any other sample during the sample preparation workflow.
This approach provides a high degree of robustness and confidence in the assay. However, it has a significant limitation: it requires continuous cell culture maintenance, with the additional impact that repeated passaging can have on cell quality.
Through the stabilization of specific cell lines using the technology developed by 300K, we can eliminate the need for continuous cell culture maintenance, allowing samples to be stored at room temperature and used whenever required increasing lab efficiency.
